Calibra has a spacious trunk compared to a “normal” car, and compared to most typical sport cars the Calibra’s trunk is significantly large. The spare tire is hidden in the compartment in the bottom of the trunk. Currently in the compartment I have a gas tank (LPG installation), and the spare I keep at the bottom of the trunk. This gets in the way a little, but I put all my tools inside and at least got rid of most of the stuff. A popular solution is a tire-cover with Velcro on one side which does not allow the tire to move around in the trunk during driving.
On both sides of the trunk (above the back wheels) there are 2 small compartments good for keeping such things as an aid-kit. In addition, near the lock of the trunk there is a compartment for a warning triangle.
The light is located only on one side of the trunk which creates a problem when we set near it a tall piece of luggage – it will obstruct the light completely. I plan to fasten a long fluorescent lamp to give light in the whole trunk. The electric installation will be connected to the existing light, so I won’t have to install an additional door sensor. |
